A local developing company sponsored a 2×3 meter poster wishing merry christmass and placed it in faneromeni square.
The poster was then decorated by the people who usually hang out there with slogans.
this is a real conversation involving two very cypriot, very ordinary middle aged women in front of the poster:
<< woman A – look at what those brats did. they cant seem to see anything pretty they have to ruin it. Im calling the press.
woman B – hm.. (tiny smile)
woman A – next time, Im bringing a bat. if i see one of those shit people vandalising Im just gonna beat him to a pulp..!
woman B – hm…. (looks weirded out)>>

Μια τοπική εταιρία developer χρηματοδότησε μιαν αφίσα 2χ3 μέτρα που γράφει ‘we wish you a merry christmas’
και την τοποθέτησε στη πλατεία Φανερωμένης. Η αφίσα μετά διακοσμήθηκε από το κόσμο που
συχνάζει εκεί με διάφορα συνθήματα. Η παρακάτω συνομιλία διαδραματίστηκε μεταξύ
δύο κυπρίων, συνηθισμένων, μεσηλίκων γυναικών μπροστά από την αφίσα:
<< γυναίκα Α – Μα κοίτα τι εκάμαν τα παλιόπαιδα. Έντζε μπορούν να δουν κάτι όμορφο πρέπει να το καταστρέψουν. Εννα πιάω
τους δημοσιογράφους να τους τα δείξω.
γυναίκα Β – χμ… (χαμογελά ελαφρά)
γυναίκα Α – άλλη φορά εννα φέρω ρόπαλο αν δω κανέναν που τούτους εννά του διώ όστι να τον λίσω.
γυναίκα Β – χμ… (παραξενεμένο ύφος)>>

<<Είδα τουλάχιστον 10 ή περισσότερους αστυνομικούς και περίπου 6 οχήματα στη γωνιά στο τέλος της οδού Λήδρας. Μετά περπάτησα μέχρι την πλατεία Φανερωμένης να δω τη έγινε. Είδα νεαρούς να αιμορραγούν, έναν να κάνει εμετό και άλλους να φωνάζουν. Ήταν όλοι αναστατωμένοι και νευριασμένοι με τη βίαιη συμπεριφορά της αστυνομίας>>
